  30.    Home Manager Professional Demo is freely distributable and copyrighted.
  31. You may upload it wherever you choose, but you are not allowed to sell Home
  32. Manager Professional for profit, or include Home Manager Professionalon a

  34. The ONLY exclusion to this is the Fred Fish Library.
  35.    Home Manager Professional Registered is NOT freely distributable. It is
  36. copyrighted and may be used only by the person to whom it is registered.

  39. * DEMO AND REGISTERED VERSION *

  41.    The only differences between the Demonstration version and Registered
  42. version is a small nagger screen appears periodically in the Demo. Also,
  43. the Info Screen is different in both.

  46. Main Course

  49. This is the final realization of what was originally called Home Sweet
  50. Home. I have gone a few steps further in this program and it now contains
  51. the following modules:
  52.  
  53.               - Appointment Scheduler
  54.               - ToDo List (with Dialer)
  55.               - Notepad (ASCII and ANSI)
  56.               - Personal Inventory Database
  57.               - Address Book (with Dialer)
  58.               - Important Phone Number List (with Dialer)
  59.               - Wallet (Credit card Database with Dialer)
  60.               - Area Codes (Area codes for the world)
  61.               - My Computer (with Dialer)

  63. Home Manager Pro comes in two versions. One is a High Resolution Interlaced
  64. (640X400) for users with flicker free modes. You can use on non-flicker free
  65. systems but the flicker would drive you crazy. Mind you, you could use the
  66. Flicker Master polaroid screen on the front of your monitor and it would
  67. be quite acceptable. I have tried it and it looks fine. The second version is
  68. a Medium Resolution (640X200). The Medium Res version does not have on screen
  69. buttons for some of the commands. The screens are all 8 colour.
  70. ALL commands are available from Drop Down Menus in BOTH versions.

  72. I have tried to make Home Manager Professional as intuitive as possible in
  73. both the Hi-Res Interlaced version and the Medium-Res version. The High
  74. Resolution version has larger List and Notes areas. HMP will run with
  75. 1/2 meg of CHIP RAM and 1/2 meg of FAST RAM but I strongly recommend
  76. at least 1 1/2 megs of memory. In iconized state it frees up about 100k
  77. of memory. If you are using the A600 or A1200, you MUST have some FAST
  78. RAM for HMP to work.

  80. Also, please be sure to go to the Config Module and make your own personal
  81. preferences. This should be one of the first things you do with HMP.

  86. Since all functions are explained with the Help function, I will only cover
  87. some areas that do not fall into that category.
  88.  
  89. They are:

  91. ALL Modules;
  92.  
  93.           Control - DEL = This key combination will work in ANY document
  94.                           field of ANY module. It will delete the line the
  95.                           cursor is currently on.
  96.  
  97.         Screenback area = The top right hand corner of every screen will
  98.                           move HMP to the back of your screens.
  99.  
  100.            Time display = Actually this is a button and you can access the
  101.                           Alarm Cock. The clock is a 24 hour alarm in
  102.                           military time format. The alarm will work in any
  103.                           mode when HMP is running. Even in WB iconized
  104.                           state.

  108. ---------------------------

  110. Click on the icon with your left mouse button. The holding your right mouse
  111. button down, you will see a listing of all the modules. Move the mouse over
  112. your choice and release the right mouse button. You will then go to the
  113. module of your choice. The Return field at the bottom of the list will take
  114. you back to the module you originally iconized the program from.

  117. Pallette
  118. --------
  119.  
  120. A small window will appear and you will see the name of the current module
  121. you are in. To the right of the name you will see 6 buttons for increasing
  122. or decreasing the numbers under them. These adjust the screen pallette.
  123. Further to the right are the 8 colours of the screen. Clicking one of these
  124. colours will put an X in the centre. This lets you know which colour you
  125. are adjusting.

  127. Once you have made all the necessary colour adjustments, you can then
  128. then Save them by clicking the Save button. If you wish to have your colours
  129. set to HMP's default colours, click Default. If you wish to Restore the
  130. colours you originally had, click Restore. This last will not work if you
  131. have Saved the current colour scheme.

  133. In the lower section, you will see the following;

  135.            Date/Time font colour

  137.            Screen font colour

  139.            Button font colour

  141. Adjusting the buttons to the right of these lines will set you text colours.
  142. for HMP. Button font colour will not be affected in the Medium Res version
  143. of HMP. Also, field text colour will only be adjusted by adjusting the
  144. colour of the second colour bar in the upper part of the window.

  147. NotePad & Notes
  148. ---------------

  150. Control - C = copy the current line cursor is on
  151. Control - I = inserts current line in buffer to line cursor is on.

  154. Appointments
  155. ------------
  156. Auto searches for appointments on disk when first loading or when moving from
  157. month to month or year to year. The appointment window is fully scrollable
  158. enabling full 24 hour period.
  159. The FP in lower right-hand corner of appointment window will give you full
  160. page mode when clicked. HP in lower right-hand corner of full page will return
  161. you to half page mode when clicked.

  164. ToDo's
  165. ------
  166. Entering a number in the first field, Priority # and Lead Line, will allow
  167. for prioritizing list by number. List will be automatically sorted according
  168. to this number.

  171. Area Codes

  173. This module is slightly different from all the others. It comes up on top
  174. of the screen you invoked it from. It is basically a lister with a search
  175. function. This module will also show up from HMP's iconized state on the
  176. WorkBench. Clicking the button in the top left hand corner will quit.

  182. There are two screens for Macros in the Medium Res version of HMP and only
  183. one screen in the Hi Res version. The Shift Function key macros pertain to
  184. the RIGHT SHIFT key only.  The Shift - Function key macro will load complete
  185. text files for you.

  308. system. This is a directory where HMP does some of it's internal work.

  311. which is the default setup for 2.04 or better.
